Two approaches / An editorial comparison
Anthropic’s Frontend Design helps an agent establish a deliberate visual direction. Impeccable adds named design workflows, persistent project context, and executable checks. Choose by the work you need and the tooling you want to maintain.
The choice, at a glance
Consider Frontend Design for a focused design brief with your existing build and verification tools.
Consider Impeccable for an ongoing design workflow with targeted review and refinement commands.
Editorial review by AI Design Skills. Sources reviewed on . We inspected instructions and setup documentation; we did not run a comparative benchmark or execute the installers. How we curate.
Anthropic’s Frontend Design concentrates on visual judgment: understand the subject and audience, propose typography, color, and layout, review those choices against the brief, then build and critique. It also calls for responsive layouts, visible keyboard focus, restrained motion, and clear interface copy. Its reviewed package contains instructions and a license, with no bundled checker.
Paul Bakaus’s Impeccable covers design direction plus ongoing interface work. Its named workflows include planning, critique, technical audits, polish, copy, and edge cases. Setup records product facts in PRODUCT.md; visual systems are recorded separately in DESIGN.md. A launcher, design detector, and optional live browser workflow make it a broader toolchain.
Imagine a ceramics studio needs a workshop booking page with its own identity and an easy mobile booking flow. This is a hypothetical selection example, not a test result.
We would start with Frontend Design when the open question is how the page should look and communicate. Give it real workshop details, photography, audience, and brand constraints; review the proposed visual direction before implementation. It fits a focused build where your existing tools already handle testing.
We would choose Impeccable when that same booking page needs a repeatable process across design and later revisions. Its separate critique, audit, and hardening workflows give you ways to address hierarchy, mobile behavior, and form edge cases. It also supports new pages; the distinction is the workflow you want to adopt, not the age of the UI.
Frontend Design needs an agent that can load its instructions and your normal development tools. Anthropic documents Claude installation; the catalog distinguishes portable installation support from native integration. Use the Frontend Design install panel for the verified agent-specific options.
Impeccable’s provider-aware installer can add native edit hooks. Its launcher runs a self-contained engine, bundled or downloaded on first use; Node is needed for the npm installer, not the engine itself. Reload the agent after installation and review its hook setup. Codex requires project-hook approval. Live editing uses a local checkout and development server or local HTML. The Impeccable install panel links the relevant setup guidance.
Both ask for deliberate design grounded in the brief and push back on generic visual defaults. Neither is a component library or a guarantee of accessible output. Frontend Design’s quality guidance still needs verification; Impeccable’s detector findings also need judgment and rendered inspection.
Our recommendation is to give one skill responsibility for the main design direction. If you later use the other for a focused review, preserve the agreed brand, requirements, and scope. Loading two primary design skills together adds overlapping instructions; this review does not establish their compatibility or rank their output quality.
These links pin the versions inspected for this comparison. Upstream instructions may change after the review date.

| Editorial verdict | The most direct starting point here for giving a new interface a deliberate visual identity. It asks the agent to ground a small design plan in the subject, review that plan, and critique the result. Its compact instructions leave implementation and repeatable technical checks to your existing tools. | The broadest workflow of the four lead picks: it carries product context from setup into design, critique, polish, and browser iteration. Its launcher and native edit hooks add more moving parts than a plain instruction file. Choose it when you want that ongoing workflow and are willing to configure it. |
